Field Trip [Photoblog -- Day 1]

May 17 to May 18 was the planned schedule for our SSP7 (Hitchhiker's Guide to Mindanao) class to Maitum, Saranggani. In the first place, I never anticipated the trip. I just came along to experience going on a field trip in a non-bio course.

May 16. I went to Joie's house and slept there. Wilson slept there too.

It was already 6:30 in the morning when we left Davao City. We passed by Digos City then upon arriving at a place called Sulop, we decided to eat our breakfast there. It was still around 8:30 in the morning.

The name of the place was Tubac Overview Park and indeed, the view was really spectacular.

Around 10:30 in the morning, we arrived at the Notre Dame of Dadiangas University (NDDU) to visit the:

Gen. Paulino Santos Museum

And these are what we saw:

Then, we proceeded to KCC Gensan since the food preapared for us at Anj's house was still not available.

Since Lyle and I had no business to attend to within the mall, we decided to go back to the van with some of our classmates and waited for the others to come back. And while waiting, Me, Lyle, Kuya Rexan and Kuya Weller found this fun idea of taking pictures with the wall which says: Bawal Umihi Dito:

Then, at 11:30, we proceeded to Anj's place and ate lunch:

After more or less 2 hours of travel, we finally arrived at Maitum, Saranggani. We first visited the City Hall for the courtesy call.

After that, we proceeded to one of the caves where in the found a number of anthropomorphic jars. But due to some natural calamities, the inner part of the cave was destroyed so we were just allowed to stay at the mouth of the cave.

We then proceeded to the Pawikan Sanctuary, found near the beach and upon knowing that the turtles that they breed there where Hawksbill Turtles, we immediately went back to the pond and played more with the turtles.

trivia: takot si mark na hawakan ung turtle, kaya ang tagal bago niya hinawakan iyan.waaa. mark: mamaak ni?

It was bad luck for all of us when suddenly, rain started pouring from the sky. Our photoshoot by the shore was stopped and we all ran our way back to the vans and headed to the resort that we were going to stay for the night.

Since there were no other means of entertainment for that night, we decided to rent a Videoke machine and sang all our energies throughout the night.
