Pre-Graduation Blues

I haven't graduated yet nor graduating soon or so. It happens that upon watching the 12th (I think? please correct me if I'm wrong) Commencement Exercises of UP Mindanao last April 16, 2008, while sitting at a side as a guest for the said event, I suddenly realized something. But I don't want to talk about that yet, I'd want to tell the things that I could remember about this year's graduation.

For the first time in my UP life, this was the only time that I've encountered RULES and SECURITY in the school. Then, I saw kuya Carlo, who looked very (ehem) formal, dashing, and highly respectable (ehem again). Bitaw kuya Carlo, you look very charming that day. =)

I watched th graduation rights with Neil and Mon (who again attempted to become EMO and mind to tell you AGAIN) hehe:D *peace mon*

We (Mon and I) played with Anya. Neil played his PSP. Kuya Lean silently watched the program.

I was soooooo happy that day for I saw a number of my friends who marched on stage. From CHSS there were Gian Abian (who won the BEST THESIS AWARD [tama ba?] and Anya even came up to stage to accompany his kuya, Sem Guinomla and more from my AH 5 classmates. From CSM we have kuya Arman, kuya Jon Marx, Kuya Vladi (cum laude and Batch's valedictorian) and a lot more from BSAM. From BSB we have Kuya Klendio, Kuya Scott, Kuya Jet (who won the BEST THESIS AWARD), ate Nina, Kuya Lester, Ate Xio and many more.

And of course, the graduate who had a lot of FANATICS waiting for HIM to come up to the stage and receive his diploma is none other than MR. ALBERT JOSEPH A. FEDILLAGA. For the information of those who were not there, it was only Sir Albert who received SCREAMS from the audience instead of the normal clap. Hmmmm.. bakit kaya?:)

*pardon me, but I could not really recall the others who had graduated but I WHOLEHEARTEDLY CONGRATULATE YOU for graduating UP Min*

Anyway, here is what I had realized:

I was sitting there, at the audience area, watching people coming up the stage. I felt very happy for them because finally, they graduated. But I suddenly thought: on the graduation of my batch, what would I feel? I already accepted the fact that I won't be graduating with my batch (T_T) because I had to extend one more semester (nag-shift man gud) and instead of graduating on April 2010, I'll probably graduate on April 2011. Right now, I'm being haunted by the decision if I would come to my batch's graduation and choose to feel bitter on that very special day in THEIR LIVES or stay at home and wonder what's happening on their graduation. *bothered*

Oblation Statue

I actually planned to write a short description and history of the Oblation statue but I think I'm too lazy to do that right now so I just have these details:

1. Carved by Guillermo Tolentino
2. Wide arms open and nakedness means that UP students have their Academic Freedom and the ability to accept change.

While I was browsing through the UP's friendster groups, I happen to pass by the group's collection of photos and I had this crazy idea to post all the pictures of the Oblation statue of the UP system.
